As the world’s largest music and audio platform, SoundCloud lets people discover and enjoy the greatest selection of music from the most diverse creator community on earth. Since launching in 2008, the platform has become renowned for its unique content and features, including the ability to share music and connect directly with artists, as well as unearth breakthrough tracks, raw demos, podcasts and more.  

I helped lead the new designs for both Soundclouds signed-out-homepage and various key marketing member-sign-up landing page experainces. I worked cloesy with teams in the US and Berlin on various new exploritory soundcloud app features, from new app sign in flows, player designs, live listening features and prototypes.

PROTOTYPING

A new user experience.

I sought out to design a homepage experience that allowed new users not familiar with soundcloud and indie artist an easily way to explore soundcloud and get familiar with the content soundcloud offers.

BTS of Soundclouds new homepage.

When working on this project, we were at Soundcloud in the midst of a slight possible rebrand. Thus I took it upon myself as I re-worked the user experience for the homepage I too played with some refreshed visual design for the UI. More of this refresh visual work can also be seen in the Marketing landing page redesign below.

Montly service refresh.

I led the design of soundsclouds new member sign up page, this is the page that most of Soundclouds Ads link to for new users to choose a plan and sign up. I took the minimal approach here to showcase more the artist in the header and prototype a new interactive feature to allow users to play featured albums before even signing up as a way to further entice a new to sign up to Soundcloud.

Below are some screens of different design-versions of the SoundCloud marketing landing pages, I normally go about 8-10 passes to better get a feel of the content and overall hierarchy of the information to better offer a design to fit the needs of user and project scope. Create some prototypes to help better showcase my vision for the user interface experience.

Mobile App polish time.

I teamed up with other product designers in prototyping different new mobile designs and features and as ongoing effort to keep soundcloud fresh and competitive among other music streaming services.
