Learning with hip-hop.
Flocabulary is a learning program for all grades that uses educational hip-hop music to engage students and increase achievement across the curriculum. Teachers at 20,000 schools use Flocabulary’s standards-based videos, instructional activities and student creativity tools to supplement instruction and develop core literacy skills.
I led the design refreshes of Flocabularys keys products from homepages, student learning pages to teacher/admin dashboards. I collaborated closely with stakeholders, PMs, and developers in the early stages of product designs from sketches to final polished designs for hand off and launch. I also led the design depts from digital product to marketing and offered mentorship to JR designers.

Refresh is in season.
I led with the new site refresh designs, the main goal was to bring forth Flocabularys new digital brand refresh and drive more user sign up with a set of new landing pages that help educate new users of flocabularys products/services.

A new teacher dashboard.
A large neglected and feature request from users was a new dashboard that is easier and more robust to use. I led the design for a new dashboard from sketching, white boarding with various team members, user testing with teachers to prototyping various features. Overall the new dashboard became a hit and teachers were thrilled with the ease of use from finding lessons, keeping track of students and assigning/creating new classes and lessons.

Learning and games.
Along with the refresh came the refresh and redesign of various layouts and features for the student lesson pages to help enhance the student experience.

BTS wireframes of lesson pages.
I took the lead in updating the lesson pages tweaking the user experience. These too I tested with various users to gauge how the experience and tutorials guides.

A new playground for engineers to use.
The teacher dashboard was a hit and thus I was tasked and led the design of a new internal tool for our engineers and PMs to use for their back-end tasks. I spent some time researching and understanding the current internal dashboard and noted the pain points and lack of features and went to work designing a more robust, easier experience, here are some screens from those designs below.

Quick wires to quick design.
Below are some screens of the engineer dashboard from wires to the visual interface pass. Nothing super complex other than learning how the backend system works and crafting a better user experience. Overall this was interesting and glad I could help the engineers and PMs work more efficiently on the Flocabulary system CMS.
