Miner

A mall for the digital age.

Miner is at the time was a leading mobile shopping app for buying the latest fashion. Featured by Apple, Miner has all your favorite stores in one place. When you shop online, you can see the inventory available in warehouses hundreds of miles away. Why is it that we cannot see what's available in the retail stores around us? Miner was set out to change that.

I was brought in as the Lead Product designer tasked to re-design Miner from the ground up. I led in the restructuring of user flows, new information architecture, new branding and UI components, and researching new shopping trends and technology.

Bottoms-up re-do.

A large push on this refresh was to reset the current look to both define Miners self-image as a the Miner brand but also not to over power the key reason users are here and that is to shop for their favorite brands. Thus the design is kept to minimal look with Miner branded UI elements touched in in subtle ways.

BTS wires of product screens.

During my re-design of the Miner App shopping experience,I tested out several versions of the product screen to help understand better how users interact with different layouts and hierarchies of information, hidden vs exposed option selectors for example. Below are some of those wireframes.

Tablets & scaling up.

Miners focus is handheld mobile, however we also wanted to touch on the tablet market and in a small step to scale up and from tablet slowly move into the realm of a full desktop experience scaling up in complexity from a small form factor like mobile.
