Mining responsible.
Barrick Gold Corp. mines and explores for gold, copper and nickel. The company operates its projects in Canada, the United States, the Dominican Republic, Australia, Papua New Guinea, Peru, Chile, Argentina, Zambia, Saudi Arabia and Tanzania. The Barrick Gold Corporation wanted to launch a web version of Beyond Borders, the company's magazine on responsible mining.
Barrick came to Merchantcantos (a design agency) for their new online magazine site for Barrick Beyond Borders. Beyond Borders would feature the latest news and updates on Barrick's social, environmental, safety and economic development programs around the world. I led in the overall design from start to finish creating wireframes, flows, testing to setting the mood and stone of the new site.

Mining the right way.
I led in the overall design, site and information structure of Barrick Beyond Borders (BBB). I too created a new brand for BBB from use of photography, UI Kits, Colors and made custom Photoshop actions for photography use to keep visual harmony and consistency across the site.

Fluid grids make viewing anywhere a breeze.
designing in a grid format is always nice because it always content to more fluid all the while being self-contained in their cell thus allowing for a more robust scalable design on various formats.

Tablet all around.
Working closely with our Dev team in the UK we did a great job on getting the site to scale for many devices.

Mobile is king.
Once more we pushed the designs to get smaller and smaller all the while not sacrificing content for our user.
